SAN JOSE, California (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii born gymnast Kyla Ross earned one of five spots on team U.S.A.'s gymnastic squad Sunday night.
The 15-year old is the youngest member of the 2012 Olympic team headed to the London games.
"Having our name called and just going out in front of the crowd," said Ross. "It was a real surreal moment. Now, we just gotta go back and work hard and hopefully go to London as best prepared as we can."
Ross' mother is originally from Hawaii, while her father Jason was a standout athlete for the University of Hawaii baseball and football teams.
The gymnastics portion of the 2012 Olympics begins on July 28th.
