QB Hopes to Join Warriors Soon

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Warrior football team could be increasing their stable of quarterbacks very soon. Hawaii News Now has learned that QB Sean Schroeder is in the process of seeking admission into the University of Hawaii's post graduate program.

Schroeder had been a member of Duke University's football team since 2009, but graduated in three years, essentially making him eligible to transfer to any university without having to sit out a season.

Schroeder competed in the Blue Devils spring game, completing a touchdown pass to put his squad up 7-0.

Coming out of Dana Hills high school in California, Schroeder was regarded as a 3-star quarterback and the 29th top QB in his class according to ESPN.

Schroeder's high school coach Brent Melborn said he has no doubt that his former star QB is ready to compete for the Warriors starting job.

"In my experience he's one of the more accurate throwing kids that i've ever been around in my 28-years in high school football," said Melborn. "Like I said, he's not the best athlete in the world, but he's got good feet in the pocket and good sense for moving around in the pocket. It still baffles me why he wasn't getting a shot at Duke, but I think this is opportunity, going to Hawaii, is tremendous."

If Schroeder joins the Warriors, he'll be one of seven QB's on staff, joining:

Jr. - David Graves

So. - Jeremy Higgins

Fr. - Ikaika Woolsey

Jr. - Caymen Shutter

Fr. - Justin Alo

Jr. - Taylor Graham
