HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - On June 30th, July 22nd, and July 28th a local restaurant in Kailua will be opening their doors for a unique dining experience by featuring "pop-up" gastropub, Miso & Ale. "Pop-up" restaurants are an irregular form of dining or gastonomic event. An existing restaurant is used on a particular evening of closure, and completely transformed into a fine dining venue with a pre-fixe menu created by the "pop-up" restaurant. Limited seating to the event is available through online social media only. The two homegrown chefs of Miso & Ale, Christopher Gee & Christopher Okuhara, reinterprets traditional pub grub fair with innovative techniques during this modern dining concept, providing diners with a truly unconventional culinary adventure.
Miso & Ale's duo of chefs are second and third generation local restauranteurs who take traditional family recipes and combine them with the British gastropub concept. By utilizing higher quality ingredients and inventive techniques, Miso & Ale provides a contemporary twist on dining staples, such as ice cream prepared tableside using liquid nitrogen. A recent Yelp reviewer remarked, "I can't begin to explain how well all the flavors and textures worked" as she described Miso & Ale's playful take on "Green Eggs & Ham."
In addition to such avant-garde methods, the "pop-up" concept itself is at the forefront of modern dining trends.
