HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The second man found guilty in the 2010 beating death of a Honolulu taxi cab driver has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Kilani Derego, 19, was convicted in February of second degree murder.

Last year, 19-year-old Michael Robles was sentenced to 20 years in prison for manslaughter.

Derego and Robles were both living in a group home for high-risk youth when authorities say they caught a cab ride from Waikiki to Waipahu.

The two men are accused of viciously beating 41-year-old Charlys Ty Tang to death in a parking lot of May 1, 2010.

Tang, a husband and father of two, died from massive head and brain injuries.
