D.O.E. EYES CUTS TO SCHOOL BUS SERVICE

In an effort to get a handle on soaring costs, the Board of Education is considering slashing school bus service. What ever it decides, the goal is to save millions of dollars in annual costs. Teri Okita will have the latest developments.

GOV: MEETS WITH POTENTIAL BUYER OF LANAI

As we first reported earlier this week, the island of Lanai is for sale. Tonight, a new development as the state and Maui County officials meet with the potential buyer.

CAYETANO V. PACIFIC RESOURCE PARTNERSHIP HEATING UP

It's been an on-going battle between Mayor candidate, Ben Cayetano, and the Pacific Resource Partnership, an advocate for unionized construction.

Tim Sakahara reports tonight how that battle is heating up.

    Nearly a year after a landslide in Kipahulu, repairs are getting underway to fix parts of Piilani Highway at the Nuanualoa Gulch. The repairs are part of a 7-month-long, nearly $2 million project. Daily road closures will begin February 5th as Hawaiian Dredging Construction crews bring in equipment to build a retaining wall, put up guard rails and complete other safety measures.
