Honolulu (HawaiiNewsNow) - David Fink edged out Alina Ching 1-Up in round two of the 104th Manoa Cup Wednesday.
Fink, an Iolani grad, held a 2-up lead through 14, but Ching, a Punahou alum, responded with a birdie on 15 and played the par-3 16 even, to square the match.
On 17, Fink knocked down a par-putt to take a 1-up advantage.
On 18, Ching needed to make a 30-foot birdie putt to give herself a chance to stay in the match, instead her ball fell short by 4-feet. Fink then knocked down a 20-foot putt for par and the match.
Fink's 1up win keeps his goal of becoming the first three-peat winner at the Manoa Cup, since Franci I'i Brown did so in 1932.
