Gas prices declined throughout the islands last week and the statewide average for regular went down three cents to $4.50, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. The price is a nickel less than a month ago, but 52 cents more than a year ago.
Honolulu's average price dropped to $4.34 a gallon for regular unleaded which is four cents less than a week ago. Today's price is eight cents less than a month ago and 42 cents higher than this time last year.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.63 a gallon, two cents less than last week, seven cents less than last month and 66 cents higher than this time last year.
Wailuku's average is $4.87 a gallon, two cents less than last week, two cents less than last month and 46 cents higher than last year.
