WAIANAE VALLEY FIRE
A massive wildfire burning on both sides of Waianae Valley has charred 1 thousand acres. It's now the largest fire so far on Oahu this year. As one resident told us, "I've never seen a fire move so fast, so fast as it did today because of the winds out here. This mountain burned in five minutes." Steve is live with the latest all morning long on Sunrise.
LIVE FROM NEW YORK... IT'S HOWARD DICUS
Hawaiian Airlines' first flight to New York City landed overnight and Howard rushed (well if you can call getting stuck in Manhattan traffic rushing) to the roof of CBS to join us live. He'll catch up with locals living in New York and some New Yorkers eager to head to Hawaii.
VENUS IN TRANSIT
Be sure to check out the skies tonight because you won't get another shot to see Venus in transit for 105 years. The Sun, the Earth and Venus will be lined up just right where we can see Venus cross in front of the sun. It starts just after noon. But do not look directly at the sun. There are several viewing parties planned around Oahu. Look for details on HawaiiNewsNow.com.
See you on Sunrise!
