Maui police say the father brought the boy to Maui Memorial Medical Center just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when the child was found unresponsive in the shower at their home. Police said Wednesday an initial examination by emergency room doctors showed the child suffered severe blunt force trauma to his internal organs and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. The father and his 27-year-old girlfriend denied knowledge of how the boy was injured. Police are investigating. Copyright 2012 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
