Waipahu attempted murder suspect remains at large

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police and CrimeStopppers are asking for the public's help in locating a man wanted for attempted murder.

Police say on Friday night, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded a man and woman to get out of their Dodge vehicle in a Waipahu parking lot.

When the couple tried to drive off, the suspect opened fire and injured both victims.

Police say the gunman may have fled in a light-colored SUV parked in the Waipahu Festival Marketplace.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian male in his 30s or 40s. He's between 5'6" and 5'8" with a medium to husky build. He has black hair and was last seen wearing light-colored shorts and a black T-shirt.
