KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - After a week and a half, families can now spend time at a Kauai beach again.
Officials took down all the warning signs and re-opened Kalapaki Beach Saturday afternoon, after approval from the Department of Health.
Last Wednesday, up to 500,000 gallons of treated sewage spilled into the beach during a power outage at the Lihue Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Authorities re-opened part of the beach on Tuesday.
