WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hundreds gathered in Waipahu Saturday morning to remember a Hawaii boxing legend.
Memorial services were held at St. Joseph's Church for Andy Ganigan.
He died earlier this month in Las Vegas.
The Waipahu native was a two-time lightweight champion in the 70's and 80's, and was the first boxer to be nicknamed "The Hawaiian Punch."
Ganigan's family says he never regained his health after being attacked outside a bar two years ago.
He was 59-years old.
