Waipahu shooting injures two, suspect still on the loose

WAIPAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting that happened Friday evening.

Around 7:45 p.m., a male and a female suffered gunshot wounds near the Bank of Hawaii on Waipahu Depot Road and Farrington Highway.  The two told police they were making a deposit into the bank when the suspect approached from behind with a gun.

The victims managed to escape in their vehicle. One suffered a wound on the hand and the other, on the shoulder.

They were both rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

Police say the suspect is about 5'7 and between 160-175 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black shirt and red sweat pants.
