HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawai'i Pacific baseball stars Blake Amaral and Michael Murray were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Region team.
Earlier this month, both were named to the PacWest First Team and NCBWA All-Region Teams.
Amaral, a senior, was a four-year standout at HPU, and by the end of his career he demolished the HPU record book. He holds, or is tied for, 11 school records including the career marks for games played, at bats, runs, hits, doubles, triples and RBI. The Hilo native also ranks second in career home runs and batting average.
Murray burst onto the scene in 2012 for the Sea Warriors as a junior after transferring into HPU. Murray's campaign was also one for the history books, he set the single season record for wins with nine and innings pitched (94.2). Overall, he went 9-3 with a 2.38 ERA. He tossed five complete games and held the opposition to a .229 average.
