HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Gas prices declined by a penny in many regions throughout the islands again last week, while the statewide average for regular held steady for the week at $4.54, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.
This price is seven cents less than a month ago and 32 cents less than a year ago.
Honolulu's average price has dropped by one cent to $4.38 a gallon for regular unleaded. Today's price is eight cents less than a month ago and a dime lower than this time last year.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.67 a gallon, a penny less than last week, eight cents less than last month and 53 cents higher than this time last year.
Wailuku's average is $4.88 a gallon, a penny less than last week, a penny less than last month and 22 cents higher than last year.
Hawaii continues as the state with the highest priced gasoline in the nation. Alaska is second with an average price of $4.51. California is ranked third with an average price of $4.31 a gallon.
