Former Hawaii man stabbed to death in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the stabbing death of a former Hawaii man whose body was found in the middle of a road.

Police say the body of 27-year-old Bobby Khamvongsa was found about 1:30 a.m. Saturday blocks from Beverly Center Shopping Complex. LAPD detectives believe Khamvongsa was involved in a dispute with the suspect who has been identified as Richard Herrera, 29, of Los Angeles.

Sources tell Hawaii News Now that Herrera and Khamvongsa were classmates at Kaimuki High School.

Khamvongsa moved to Los Angeles within the last year and a half.

Khamvongsa was a graduate of Kaimuki High School and the Hollywood Beauty College. He was also a cheerleader for the Cheer808 all-stars.
