Attempted armed robbery suspect on the loose

PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Honolulu Police are looking for a suspect in an attempted robbery in Pearl City.

According to investigators, the incident happened at around 10 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of 97-719 Kamehameha Highway near Puu Poni Street. They said a man armed with a handgun demanded money from another man.

Police say the victim refused and the suspect allegedly punched the 45-year-old in the face and hit him on the forearm with the handgun.

The suspect then fled empty-handed into a black truck driven by another Polynesian male.

The suspect is described as a Polynesian male in his thirties, 5-feet 9-inches tall and weighs about 220 lbs.
