EXCLUSIVE: Financial advisor arrested for allegedly stealing from retired city workers

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A financial advisor contracted by the City and County of Honolulu to handle its retirement accounts has been arrested by police on theft charges.

Bruce Harada was arrested Friday afternoon. The 53-year-old Harada is accused of stealing money from at least two retired city employees, totaling $100,000.

Harada is an employee of ING Financial Services. He was arrested at ING's Kapiolani Boulevard offices, and was led out of a police car in handcuffs at the main police station.

Police are investigating the possibility that there are more victims and more money involved.
