Police: Speed, alcohol factors in fatal motorcycle crash

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating a late-night motorcycle crash that left one man dead in Kaneohe.

According to police, the incident happened Thursday at 10:50 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway near Kaimalolo Place.

Police say the motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man, was traveling northbound when he crossed the center line and hit a truck and a compact car.

The man was then ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet.

According to police, speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old Honolulu man, and his 50-year-old female passenger were not injured. The driver of the compact car, a 21-year-old Honolulu woman, was also not injured in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
