NANAKULI, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An illegal family pet is in state custody. Wildlife experts confiscated a Boa Constrictor that was nearly 7 feet in length.
The snake was found at a home in Nanakuli on Haleakala Avenue after an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers.
Having a snake in Hawaii is punishable by up to 3 years in prison. But the family chose to give it up under the amnesty program.
