Three men were arrested Saturday in connection with alleged cockfighting in Nanakuli. Honolulu police have arrested a total of 15 people at suspected cockfighting locations on Oahu in 2012.

Saturday's arrests happened at 87-1-29 C Hakimo Road. Four men were arrested at that same location during a cockfighting raid in May, 2010.

Alexander Agustin, 41, of Maili was charged Saturday with cruelty to animals and possessing an illegal gaff. Christopher Ibanez, 32, of Waianae faces those same two charges. Philip Nazareth, 38, of Wahiawa was cited for possessing a gaff.

All four were freed after posting bail.

According to police cockfighting season runs from November into July. The birds typically begin to molt in July and the number of fights drops dramatically.
