UH Manoa graduation ceremonies at Stan Sheriff Center

MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - More than 2,200 college students wrapped up a significant chapter in their lives Saturday.

UH Manoa graduates received their degrees and certificates during commencement ceremonies at the Stan Sheriff Center.

More than 1,400 took home bachelor's degrees, while nearly 800 received graduate honors.

One graduate who is on the women's track and field team went right to the ceremony after competing in the WAC championships.

"Next year, I'm gonna continue my athletics and I'm going to compete for one more year and I'm gonna take graduate classes as an unclassified grad student, so post bac", said Camie Kohashi.

Windward Community College and UH West O'ahu also held their commencement ceremonies Saturday.

Students from the William Richardson School of Law and the John A. Burns School of Medicine will be receiving their recognition Sunday.
