HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Gas prices declined in most regions throughout the islands last week, with the statewide average for regular dipping two cents to $4.55 compared to last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. This price is six cents less than a month ago and a penny less than a year ago.
Honolulu's average price has dropped by three cents at $4.40 a gallon. Today's price is seven cents less than a month ago and seven cents lower than this time last year.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.69 a gallon, three cents less than last week, a nickel less than last month and 11 cents higher than this time last year.
Wailuku's average is $4.89 a gallon, unchanged from last week, four cents more than last month and six cents lower than last year.
Hawaii continues as the state with the highest priced gasoline in the nation. Alaska is second with an average price of $4.35. California is third with an average price of $4.21 a gallon.
