Assault Suspect, Missile Launch, Bionic Battleship Hero

POLICE WANT TO TALK TO THIS MAN

Arizona police want to talk to the man in this surveillance video. He's a possible suspect in the sexual assault of a 6 year old Hawaii girl who was staying at her Grandparents' home. She described the man who attacked her as wearing a green, sleeveless shirt, dark shorts and dark-colored glasses.

OVERNIGHT MISSILE TEST

New overnight, the United States destroyed a target missile near Hawaii in the first successful test of a new defense tool. The target was launched from Kauai and involved the USS Lake Erie. We have the video of the launch on Sunrise.

FLAGS LOWERED STATEWIDE

Flags across the State will be flown at half staff today in honor of a Hawaii-born soldier killed in Afghanistan. Chief Warrant Officer Don Viray of Waipahu was one of four Schofield-based soldiers killed last month in a helicopter crash. Visitation for Viray will be held at 9 AM at the Borthwick Mortuary. He will be laid to rest at 1 this afternoon at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.

 

GOVERNOR ON SUNRISE

Governor Abercrombie will join us live on Sunrise this morning at 6:30. We'll talk about everything from teachers contract negotiations, to rail to President Obama's support of same sex marriage.
