Hi everyone. Here's a look at some of the stories we're working on for Hawaii News Now at 5 & 5:30.

POLICE INVESTIGATE ANOTHER ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING

Officials at Kainalu Elementary say a stranger tried to get a student into his car and students say this isn't the first time something like that has happened. Teri Okita brings us the story tonight at 5.

NEW TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROJECT

Help is on the way for the homeless and people with mental illness, disabilities or addictions. The City plans to provide millions of dollars for a transitional housing facility with a location yet to be determined. Brooks Baehr has more details.

UNWELCOME VISITOR ON KAUAI

It's population has sky-rocketed on Oahu and the State hopes that will not be the case on Kauai...but there are new concerns after various sightings of mongoose. We'll have more on the efforts to trap the invasive species.

WHITE WATER CAUSE DETERMINED

Remember that mysterious substance that turned Kaneohe Bay and nearby streams milky white? The test results have come back and we finally know what caused the discoloration.
