PRINCEVILLE, KAUAI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 35-year-old Kapaa woman has died from injuries she suffered in a traffic collision in Princeville Monday morning.
The woman was heading north on Kuhio Highway near the Kapaka Street junction at about 10:15 a.m. when her green Ford SUV was rear-ended by a white Ford pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck, a 43-year-old Kalaheo man, sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.
Police closed Kuhio Highway for roughly an hour and a half while crews worked to clear the roadway.
The crash remains under investigation. This is the second traffic fatality on Kauai this year. Kauai police are not releasing her name pending notification of next of kin.
