Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii holds keiki fun fest
MOILIILI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Families headed to Moiliili, to celebrate a day dedicated to children.
The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii sponsored a keiki fun fest Sunday in honor of kodomo no hi.
The festivities featured a mini carnival, martial arts demonstrations, and several costumed characters.
The center says the festival isn't only about having fun, but also teaching younger generations.
"It's a celebration for our children and a way for us all to pass on our cultural traditions and culture and history to the keiki of Hawaii", said Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii President Carol Hayashino.
2012 is a special year for the center as it will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
