PALAMA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Dozens gathered at Mayor Wright Homes Sunday morning to begin a new chapter.
The public housing complex held its first free book fair.
The Kamehameha Schools boys track team helped put on the event.
Organizers say the fair was a way to give back to the community, especially the youth.
"I was a little surprised when the doors opened there was about 20 kids that ran through the front door grabbing books so its something pretty dear to me. I love to read, we are glad our team is here and it was like Christmas morning", said Kamehameha Schools Track and Field Coach Harvey McInerny.
