A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after his motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck in Wahiawa Sunday.
Police said the crash happened at 2:30 p.m. at Kamehameha Highway and Ohai Street. The motorcyclist was among three members of a motorcycle club that were traveling south on the highway. According to investigators, one of the club members sped ahead of the other two. A white pickup truck in front of the group slowed down. Police said the 50-year-old motorcyclist could not stop in time, and was thrown from the bike. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Center with head injuries.
The occupants of the pickup truck and the other two motorcyclists were not injured, police said.
