KULA, Maui (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 41-year-old Kula man died Friday night after his motorcycle collided with an SUV that turned left in front of him at the entrance to Keokea Community Park, police said.

Investigators said a Jeep Cherokee was traveling south on Kula Highway shortly before 7 p.m. Friday and turned left in front of a Honda motorcycle operated by Jason Williamson. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the 39-year-old woman driving the Jeep suffered a contusion to her forehead and multiple lacerations to her face. She was treated at Maui Memorial Medical Center and released. A three-year-old boy in the rear seat of the Jeep suffered facial lacerations, and was treated and released.

Investigators said the woman and child were wearing seat belts. Williamson was wearing a helmet when the crash occurred.

Alcohol, speed and drugs are still pending investigation, police said.
