Landfill Decision, Basil Contamination & Bionic Man

LANDFILL DECISION

A City committee recommended that Windward Oahu be considered the home of the next landfill. If approved by the Mayor and City Council, the Ameron Quarry would replace the Waimanalo Gulch Landfill in Leeward O'ahu. Ben Gutierrez brings us the story plus reaction tonight at 5.

BASIL CONTAMINATION

The Department of Health has ordered a Leeward Oahu farm to stop the sale of basil after finding unapproved pesticide on crops. This affects 28 acres of basil at "FAT Law's Farm Incorporated" in Ewa and Kunia. We'll have more details tonight at 5.

HELP FOR RESIDENTS IN KALIHI VALLEY

A week after large boulders came crashing down into several Kalihi Valley homes, help is on the way for residents. The State Land Board today authorized spending up to $150,000 to remove loose boulders above the homes. Brooks Baehr reports live to explain the removal process at 5.

BIONIC MAN

And.. a Pennsylvania man thought he would never stand again after becoming paralyzed from the neck down..but with the help of a bionic exoskeleton, he is on his feet again. See the inspirational story tonight at 5:30.
