The Hawaii Foodbank 23rd Annual Food Drive Day!

(HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaii Foodbank and Food Drive sponsors First Hawaiian Bank, Hawaii News Now, KSSK and the Honolulu Star Advertiser will be in communities across the state collecting dollars and food for the Hawaii Foodbank 23rd Annual Food Drive Day. This year, the Hawaii Foodbank is asking everyone to help meet the One Million Meals Challenge. The goal: to raise food and dollars from January 26 through April 21 to distribute 1 million meals to the hungry in Hawaii. The food drive goes from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Oahu and 9:00am to 2:00pm on Kauai.

The Hawaii Foodbank and its network of nearly 250 agencies feeds 183,500 people statewide each year including 55,050 children and 11,010 seniors. In Hawaii, one in five children live in a household that doesn't know where its next meal is coming from. Please support your neighborhood collection site on Saturday, April 21 by volunteering or making a donation. To volunteer at a site near you, click HERE to download an application or call 836-3600, ext. 239. Most needed foods are: Canned meats, meals (spaghetti, chili and corned beef), soups, fruits and vegetables. Your $10 donation will enable the Hawaii Foodbank to distribute food for 25 meals.
