Case Slams Hirono, Stabbing Near MWH, Sheriff Enters Plea

Hello everyone .. Here's what were working on for our 5 and 5:30 newscasts tonight:

LATEST ON STABBING NEAR MAYOR WRIGHT HOUSING

We will have the latest information on a stabbing that happened near the Mayor Wright Housing Complex. Tonight, Brooks Baehr, shows us the man, police say, was involved in that alleged crime. And what Hakim Ouansafi, the Executive Director of Hawaii Public Housing Authority has to say about it.

FEDERAL PRISON GUARD INDICTED

We're also following the story of Federal Prison Guard, Richard Seaman, who was indicted today on charges of sexually assaulting a prisoner. More on that at 5.

SHERIFF DEPUTY APPEARS ON COURT

Meantime, the State Sheriffs Deputy accused of sexually assaulting a detainee also appeared in court today. Hawaii News Now cameras were there as Benjamin Fonoti entered his plea.

ED CASE SLAMS MAZIE HIRONO OVER DEBATE SCHEDULE

It looks like Ed Case will not get what he wants, and that is a series of statewide debates against his congressional opponent, Mazie Hirono. Tonight, Ben Gutierrez talks with Ed Case about Hirono's latest announcement.

HAWAII NEWS NOW AT 5:30 ON KHNL: HPU CHEER COMPETITION

Tonight at 5:30 on KHNL, members of the HPU Cheer squad are collecting signatures for a petition to hopefully get them to the nationals. Despite the squad's numerous national titles, the school has opted not to send them. Teri Okita breaks it down at 5:30.

Also tonight, Guy says the windy weather will be around for a while. But for how long? Tune in at 5.
