(HawaiiNewsNow) - "Plate Up Niu Valley" is a major fundraising event for Niu Valley Middle School, organized by parent group, Friends of Niu Valley, where Hawaii's top chefs donate their time and expertise to mentor 48 interested students, and bring awareness and knowledge in the food industry.The Honorary Host of this event is Executive Chef Russell Siu of 3660 on the Rise.
This is the second year of this event which will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Grand Ballroom.The first year the event took place on the school campus in the cafeteria, however the planners decided to take this to a larger venue to accommodate more tables, and increasing the number of chefs from 9 to 14.

Guests will be able to see the chefs and students prepare and plate all the dishes in the ballroom.Entertainment will be provided by the school's nationally-recognized Percussion Ensemble. Also included in the program willbe both a live and silent auction. The Master of Ceremony is Hawaii's own VJ and host of OC 16 Dis 'n Dat, Kutmaster Spaz, also a parent at Niu Valley.This is the only event where you can enjoy the delicacies prepared by renown local chefs as they mentor our children in the culinary arts.
