HPD searching for suspect in vehicle chase

KUNIA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a vehicle chase that shut down a portion of Kunia Road.

According to officials, the chase started in Mililani at about 11:45 p.m. Monday. Officers tried to pull over a Honda sedan, but it refused to stop. The suspect operating the vehicle then headed for the Kunia area.

Police soon learned one of the car's four occupants was wanted in connection with an earlier incident that occurred over on the windward side of Oahu.

The car eventually pulled over along Kunia Road and the suspects ran off.

Police managed to capture of two women in their late 20s and a man in his mid 40s, each with prior arrests.

Officers shut down Kunia Road in both directions between Kupuna Loop and Kunia Camp for about an hour-and-a-half to search for the last male suspect.

Police have yet to locate the male suspect who's described as 5'10" and 180 pounds.

The other three suspects are at the Wahiawa police station while the investigation is underway.
