KAHUKU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A 17-year-old boy is dead after a crash at the Kahuku Motocross Park on Oahu's North Shore Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, Wayne Stevenson was reportedly killed after a hard landing following a 15-foot jump at about 2:30 p.m.

An Emergency Medical Services spokesperson says Stevenson was unconscious shortly after the crash and then went into cardiac arrest.

The Kahuku High School junior reportedly played football and was an avid dirt bike rider.

People at the scene said the track appeared to be in good condition.

Officials say off-duty firefighters helped perform CPR before paramedics arrived to the scene.

Stevenson was transported in extremely critical condition to Kahuku Hospital, where he later died.
