Man arrested after Honolulu police officer punched in face

WAIANAE (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Honolulu police officer was not seriously injured when he was punched in the face while responding to an argument call in Waianae.

Police said the officer was responding to the call of an argument involving several men on Maaloa Street at 10 p.m. Saturday.

According to authorities, when the first officer arrived on the scene, a man in his 30s punched the officer on the side of the face.

The suspect was subdued and arrested for first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer.
