Bows Drop Gm 2 to Bulldogs

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Through 7 innings, UH pitcher Jarrett Arakawa could do no wrong...and then the 8th inning came around.

The sophomore lefty was lit up for 4 runs by Fresno State in the top of the 8th inning, as the Bulldogs beat the Bows 5-3.

The Iolani product line read as such: 7 IP, 8 strikeouts, 0 BB, 4 earned runs; as he fell to 3-3 on the season.

Hawaii (18-13, 1-1) got nice production at the plate from Piikea Kitamura (2-4, 2 2B's, 2 RBI) and Trevor Podratz (1-2, RBI), but failed to capitalize in the bottom of the 8th when Max Duvall ended the inning by striking out with two runners on base.

Hawaii and Fresno State complete their three game series Saturday at 1pm (HST).
