HONOLULU – Mike Trapasso's Rainbows baseball team finished what they began Friday night. With a convincing 7-1 win over U.C. Davis, U.H. reclaimed some of its swagger—and momentum—heading into WAC play. The Rainbows won the last three games of the four game series against the Aggies, outscoring them by a combined 16-5 margin.
Sunday, the team spread the wealth offensively, as seven different players collected hits, six different players scored runs, and five had at least one RBI.
Head Coach Mike Trapasso was pleased with his team's effort. "We did play bad on Thursday, and to bounce back and play better, that's the most important thing leading into conference."
Lawrence Chew continued to excel on the mound. The freshman from Mililani lasted six innings, surrendering only one run on three hits and two walks. He struck out three.
The Warriors will begin conference play on Thursday against Fresno State at Les Murakami Stadium.
