New Video: Missing parrot found and returned to Honolulu Zoo

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow)- There's new video of one of the exotic birds now back at the Honolulu Zoo.

The red solomon island eclectus parrot was in quarantine Sunday.

It was returned Saturday after a couple who went hiking found the bird on the Diamond Head trail.

The parrot had been missing since Monday night.

Two other birds are still on the loose.

A tawny frogmouth and a buff-headed ground dove also escaped when vandals cut holes in 24 wire cages.

On Sunday, zoo birdkeepers set up a huge "mist net" hoping to catch the dove which has been seen near cages with his mate and offspring inside.

Call the zoo at 971-7174 if you see one of the missing birds or if you have information about the vandalism. You can also contact CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
