HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Hilo woman whose personal struggle moved lawmakers to tears has died.
Back in 2009, Terry Kaide championed efforts to be with her ailing husband Sidney.
Kaide fought to pass a bill, which now allows two private pay patients, the choice to live together in the same care home.
She even courageously testified at the State Capitol surrounded by family and friends.
We're told Kaide died peacefully Friday morning at the age of 89.
Funeral services are pending.
