HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mike Prickett the Oahu underwater photographer who nearly died saving a fellow diver has been transferred to a mainland hospital.
Prickett gave a shaka after making the journey from Tahiti to a hyperbaric treatment facility in San Diego.
He's been partially paralyzed for two weeks now due to a severe case of the bends. It happened when he saved a diver in distress during an underwater shoot in Tahiti.
Two fundraisers will be held Wednesday, March 28 to help cover medical expenses.
