Suspicious package closes streets in downtown Honolulu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -  Honolulu police closed parts of Punchbowl and Halekauwila streets because of a suspicious package Monday afternoon.

The Federal Building was beriefly put on lockdown around 1:45 p.m. while the bomb squad investigated.

HPD closed Punchbowl from Queen Street to Nimitz Highway and Halekauwila from South Street to Nimitz.

All road reopened by 2:40 p.m.

    The remains of two American servicemen killed during the Korean War and returned to the United States by North Korea in August have been identified at a Hawaii forensics lab.
