No tsunami threat to Hawaii after Papua New Guinea quake

Papua New Guinea (HawaiiNewsNow) - A strong earthquake has hit Papua New Guinea, but was not strong enough to generate a tsunami threat to Hawaii.

The quake was measured at a magnitude 6.7, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake happened at 12:15 p.m. HST.
