(HawaiiNewsNow) - The Measles Initiative was started in 2001 by the American Red Cross and 4 other organizations. At that time, over 750,000 children annually worldwide were dying of Measles, which is one of most contagious and deadliest of all diseases. In first decade, we vaccinated 1 billion children and saved 4.3 million lives. Still, about 450 people die from measles every day. It costs than $1 to vaccinate a child. Our Hawaii Red Cross clubs, including La Pietra, Aiea, and Chaminade, are selling Measles Initiative pins for $1. For more info click HERE!
