KILAUEA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The U.S. Geological Survey had added new photos the Hawaii Volcano Observatory website.
Scientists say the Pahoehoe flows are still active on the "upper coastal plain," but volcanic activity has been a little sluggish lately. The reason is likely because of a recent deflation phase at the summit.
These flows are inching closer to the ocean. As of Monday they are still more than 1 mile from the ocean. There is no ocean entry yet.
