HONOLULU(HawaiiNewsNow)- The Rainbow Wahine softball team got back on track in a big way. One night after being blanked by #6 Texas 4-0, Bob Coolen's crew turned the tables on an overmatched Marist squad, winning 6-0. Pitcher Kaia Parnaby led the way, tossing her second career no-hitter while fanning a career high 14 batters. The Redfoxes managed only one walk off Parnaby.
Offensively, Parnaby received plenty of support, as Makani Duhaylonsod led the way, going 2-3 with 2 RBI, including an impressive home run to left in the 6th inning. Leftfielder Ashley Corriss tracked the ball to the wall, and had it in her mitt before losing it over the fence.
Kelly Majam and Leisha Li'i Li'i had an RBI each – both coming in the 4th inning. The Wahine scored 5 runs in the frame, busting open a scoreless tie.
The Wahine continue play in the Spring Fling Tournament Thursday night against the top-ranked team in the country, California, at 6:30pm at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
