Honolulu Festival activities bring hundreds out to Ala Moana Center Stage

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Hawaii is hosting a popular cultural celebration this weekend.

At Ala Moana's Center Stage, crowds checked out activities at the 18th annual Honolulu Festival.

The event features exhibits and performances from all over the pacific rim.

Tourism officials say the festival brings in 4,500 visitors and infuses more than $2 million dollars into Hawaii's economy.

"A group from Korea performed this (Saturday) morning and they were fabulous; and a Taiwanese group, a local Filipino dance troupe, so it's really a wonderful way to experience all of these cultures without having to travel thousands of miles", said festival volunteer Lenny Andrew.

Portions of the festival are also being held in Waikiki and at the Hawaii Convention Center.
