WAIALAE (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are on the lookout for a man suspected of stealing a truck at a Kahala gas station.

Surveillance footage from the Chevron service station captured a portion of the incident.

Workers say around 4:30 Friday afternoon the suspected thief went into the mini mart area looking for a drink.

After he paid for his goods, he exited the store and hopped into another customer's truck.

The truck's owner tried to stop the suspect.

The station manager said it is a reminder not to leave your vehicle unlocked and unattended.

"Anything can happen to anyone at anytime. We see people all the time, they come in, sometimes they leave their car door open. They leave the engine running. They come in to make a quick purchase, but it's a reminder to keep your guard up", said Chevron Waialae Manager Barney Robinson.

If you have any information on the case call Honolulu police.
