HFD extinguishes pallet fire at Palama Supermarket

KALIHI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu firefighters responded to an early morning rubbish fire just outside the Palama Supermarket.

According to officials, the incident was reported at 3:23 a.m. when wooden pallets caught fire fronting the supermarket on Kalihi and Kaumualii Streets before it could spread to the building.

No injuries were reported, but a truck belonging to the supermarket was slightly damaged.

Officials shut down Moowaa and Kohou Streets while they put of the flames.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Police do not plan to open an arson investigation at this time.
